ANTENNA PEDESTALS

  • Serves to provide basic rotary motion of primary and secondary antenna of surveillance radars
  • The rotary motion is provided by two gearboxes and electric motors
  • Inside pedestal body holds a tank for oil designed to lubricate rollers of the bearing, its tooth system and drive pinions
  • An electromagnetically actuated clutch installed between the motors and   the gearboxes allows operation with one motor only
  • Can be equipped with remote diagnostics  & maintenance system
  • In special version, the main bearing can be replaced without removal of the antenna

PEDESTAL DRIVE UNIT - CONTROL AND DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM

  • Suitable for antenna pedestal dual-drive with electromagnetically controlled clutches
  • Ethernet communication interface
  • Self-diagnostic function of Antenna control unit (ACU)
  • Remote control of antenna pedestal dual-drive (start/stop, antenna rotation speed selection, PSR antenna polarisation control, weather channel switch control, waveguide air valve control, electric clutch control) from radar control and monitoring system (CMS)
  • Provides immediate information and warnings to operating    personnel
  • Continuously monitors operation and condition of dual-drive pedestal
  • Allows early detection of potential problems
  • Prevents failures such as breakdown, overheating, oil leakage and other hazardous situations
  • Improves radar performance and its operating efficiency
  • Contributes to increased lifetime of radar mechanical parts
  • Reduces maintenance costs by preventing unplanned maintenance events
